Germany has broken another record in producing renewable energy

Published

In the first six months of 2017, 35% of electricity in Germany was generated with the use of renewable energy sources, which is 2,4% more than in the previous year – the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) announced.

The transport sector uses the least renewable energy - only 5,1 % with 0,4 % of decrease. On the other hand there is an 0,3% increase in thermal energy, which gives total 13,6 %.

Despite that fact Harold Uphoff – CEO of BEE thinks that moving to renewable energy is still too slow. He emphasizes that economic development and climate protection should not be thought as things mutually exclusive.
