iZettle from MCI.TechVentures portfolio joins forces with UnionPay International

One of the fastest growing technology companies in Europe and EMEA, iZettle, announced the addition of UnionPay, one of the largest card networks in the world, to its range of accepted credit and debit cards. iZettle has been a part of MCI.TechVentures portfolio since 2015.

As a result of the announced partnership, the iZettle card reader is the first of its kind to accept UnionPay across ten markets in Europe. Chinese visiting Europe will now be able to pay for goods and services using their UnionPay cards with iZettle merchants.
Founded in 2010, iZettle is number one provider of mobile payment services and apps in Europe and Latin America. Its services are now available in 11 countries globally.
MCI invested in iZettle in 2015, confirming its focus on FinTech industry. In the portfolio of the funds associated with MCI are such companies as Azimo, MarketInvoice and Dotpay/eCard.
