iZettle from MCI.TechVentures with the new funding and new CFO

iZettle, a company which is part of the MCI.TechVentures portfolio, the leader of the market acceptance of mobile payments in Europe and Latin America, announced that it has raised over 60 million EUR, in the next round of funding and hired new CFO.

Swedish iZettle collected over 60 million EUR for further development in the next round of financing. The current aim of the company is to expand their services beyond mobile payments on markets where company is already present. Acquired funds will therefore be used for acquisitions of other entities. So far iZettle has collected a total of about 235 million USD of financing, that has been allocated for its development.

Jacob de Geer, founder and CEO of iZettle, announced that 45 million EUR gained in a new round of financing will be provided in the form of a debt by Victory Park Capital. The remaining 15 million EUR comes from existing investors: MCI.TechVentures managed by PEMenagers, Intel Capital, American Express and MasterCard.
Additionally, iZettle announced that Maria Hendengren, who previously worked in the NetEnt, has taken the position of CFO in the company. Since the beginning of her career, she was related to the IT industry and financial market.
Swedish company iZettle is present on 10 markets in Europe, Brazil and Mexico, offering solutions dedicated to small business including card readers for smartphones and tablets, cash registers based on tablets, sales tools and credit products. iZettle is one of the key assets in MCI’s portfolio, along with other companies from FinTech industry like: Polish Dotpay / eCard (online payments provider), Polish-British Azimo (online digital money transfer service) and MarketInvoice (London-based peer-to-peer small business financing platform).
