Erol Bilecik, CEO of Index Group from MCI.EuroVentures portfolio, to head the biggest Turkish business organization TÜSİAD

Erol Bilecik, CEO of Index Grup from MCI.EuroVentures portfolio and one of the most recognizable persons on Turkish tech market, is set to become the new president of the biggest Turkish business organization TÜSİAD. TÜSİAD currently represents more than 4 thousand companies responsible for 80% of Turkish foreign trade, more than 50% of jobs in private sector and provide more than 80% revenues from corporate tax.

Erol Bilecik is the first candidate for the president of TÜSİAD from the tech sector. He started his career in 1987 as the analyst in German company Nixdorf Computer after graduating as the engineer from Istanbul Technical University. In 1989 he established Index Grup that he has been successfully developing until now.
Index Grup is currently the leader of IT distribution market in Turkey. Yearly revenues of the company exceed 850 million USD. Since 2004 Index Grup has been listed on Borsa Istanbul and since 2013 one of its shareholder has been MCI.Euroventures. Erol Bilecik is also a member of Supervisory Board of another company from Fund’s portfolio i.e. ABC Data that is the leading IT distribution company in CEE region.

Its goal is creating a social order based on the competitive market economy, sustainable development, and participatory democracy. TÜSİAD has representative offices in Ankara, Washington, Brussels, Berlin, London, Paris and Beijing. The goal of appointment of Erol Bilecik as TÜSİAD president is the increase of the role of new technologies in Turkish economy.
